Extra Curricular Music
Sacred Heart College actively encourages pupil participation in music activities. Music has the ability to facilitate language acquisition, reading readiness and general intellectual development. It also enhances creativity, promotes social development and self worth. At present pupils can become involved in any or all of the following music activities;
- Intrumental Chamber Group
- Junior Choir
- Senior Choir
- Junior Traditional Group
- Senior Traditional Group
- School rock band
Individual perfomance skills are developed to a high standard and pupils are prepared and entered for examinations grades 1-8 with either Associated Board or Trinity Guildhall.
Pupils transferring to Sacred Heart College have the opportunity to:
- begin lessons in drums, guitar, brass or woodwind (KS3) and voice (KS4)
- continue lessons they were currently recieving with WELB peripatetic music tutors at primary school.
